I am interested in what a person reveals and what remains beneath the surface. Through figures, gestures and the tension between them, I explore identity, experience and the inner contradictions of the mind.

I build images in which something familiar briefly becomes strange. Beauty and unease, safety and threat can be present at the same time. Painting is central to my practice, but I also experiment with materials and other forms when the work calls for them.

I do not want to prescribe what a viewer should see. I hope an image can stir a feeling or a moment of recognition even when there are no immediate words for it. Each person brings their own experience to the work and is free to find something of their own there.
